Haley + Will | A Lemony Fresh Los Poblanos Wedding | Albuquerque Wedding Photographers

July 31, 2019

Haley and Will met when Haley moved from New Mexico to Texas. Will helped Haley in unloading her moving truck, him being the first man she met in her new city, and they nurtured their friendship for three years before he asked her out. Then just a little down the road in their relationship, he guided Haley to her favorite oak grove on his family’s horse ranch and promptly got down on one knee, asking her The Question in a sure and steady voice. Haley confessed to us that she has been dreaming about having her wedding at Los Poblanos before she even met Will, as it’s “one of the most magical places [she’s] ever seen,” and we couldn’t agree more!

Right from the beginning, Haley established herself as a bride with excellent taste, and we absolutely could not wait for her wedding date to arrive. Haley selected a summer wedding in July and to make matters even more perfect, the date was set in pique lavender season! Eep!

The color palette of the wedding was navy and white, with touches of lemons and greenery, which resulted in looking fabulously classic and elegant. They included special and intimate details all throughout the day, like: a crest designed with an overlapping W and H, surrounded by greenery and lemons, which they displayed during their ceremony and reception; family china (Blue Willow China) was used for all of the place settings; every guest table had ginger jars that belonged to her mother and grandmother; and for Haley and Will’s plates, Haley’s sister painted their crest— lemons and all— perfectly onto them. There were also other amazing details, such as the couple’s escort card table: it was a lemon tree, with guests’ names and table numbers written on the leaves of the lemons, the incredible calligraphy being done by Ashley Rose Handlettering. Rain came and threatened the day with large cracks of thunder and lightening; however, it promptly stopped at 5:00, just in time for the ceremony to start, and later graced us with a beautiful sunset thanks to the stormy clouds.

Floriography effortlessly brought Haley and Will’s vision of “classic with a twist of summer lemon” to life with simple and elegant all-white bouquets of eucalyptus and hydrangeas, and of course, the beautiful pops of citrus. The head table they set up was one of the most fun-yet-chic tables we have ever had the pleasure of shooting, and we just could not get enough of it. Long garlands of eucalyptus, lemons, and candles graced the ever long farm table as Haley and Will sat in fun whicker chairs, courtesy of Rust Vintage.

Haley’s hair and makeup, done by the incredibly talented Genica Lee, was classically romantic and had the bride radiating elegance and beauty from the First Look to the lavender-tossed Grand Exit. It went perfectly with her dress, simple and elegant, falling off her shoulders delicately, with our favorite detail being the gorgeous bow in the back.

To end the night, we did sunset pictures in the still-blooming lavender field, fuzzy alpacas roaming beside us, the sky in fiery hues of tangerines and corals. It couldn’t have been more perfect if we’d tried. Congrats Haley and Will on your perfect day!
