We have been fortunate enough to see an abundance of wedding venues, many of which have become almost like a second home to us due to the frequency of which we’re hired to be there. Out of the local venues here in New Mexico that we shoot time and time again, a few definitely stand out above the rest: on this Vendor Highlight, we’re gushing about the Hyatt Regency Tamaya. They’re able to boast 550 acres of land, meaning there are no shortages of things to do if you and your guests are staying there for your wedding, or, most importantly, places to take pictures during your special day! With the resort being located on the Native American Santa Ana Pueblo, there’s also the added bonus of being able to experience centuries of history and culture.
Here are just some of the reasons why we’ve come to adore Tamaya:
- All of the Photo Locations -
With the aforementioned 550 acres, there are countless places that make the most gorgeous settings for pictures. Whether it’s for first looks, bridal party shots, or couple’s portraits, here are a few of our preferred locations:
- Cottonwoods -
No matter the time of season, the trees in the cottonwood forest always provide the most stunning backdrop!

- The Mesas -
With its wide-open fields and incredible mesas in the background, this spot is pure New Mexican magic!

- The Bosque -
Right by the Rio Grande, this area is lush and ideal for couples that want a little more greenery and a little less desert in their photos!

- The Variety of Ceremony Locations -
It’s easy to be overwhelmed by all of the options as to where ceremonies can be held, so we’ve narrowed it down to our favorites:
- Sunrise Amphitheater -

- Cottonwood Pavilion and Patio -

- House of the Hummingbird -
