Veronica + Mike | Site Santa Fe Wedding | Santa Fe Wedding Photographers

Veronica and Mike met in high school. She was supposed to be passing him a note, written to him by a friend, and when she finally found him in the commons area and their eyes met, sparks flew. He asked her to the winter ball and they began dating. Like so many other high school relationships, Mike and Veronica parted ways in college. Fast forward 10 years later, and they decided to meet for coffee to catch up and see where life had taken them. They instantly knew they were meant to be and began dating again.

When I first met Veronica, it was so obvious she was the type of person who loves with her entire heart. She is one of the most giving and kind humans I have ever encountered. I didn't meet her boyfriend Mike until I received a phone call from him asking me to photograph their proposal. He had booked the horse drawn carriage at Tamaya complete with champagne and strawberries to ask her for her hand. The weather took a turn and Mike ended up changing plans and proposing at the exact spot he and Veronica had taken their senior portrait together for the yearbook. They had won “best couple,” and who would have known all these years later, that they would be getting married. (Okay, I think quite a few of their classmates called it, but obviously this couple was meant to be!)

Veronica poured her heart into planning their day and it was full of SO MANY personal touches. From the minty turquoise classic car that Veronica surprised Mike with as a wedding gift, the same type of car his late father owned years ago, (he may or may not have shed a couple tears) to their adorable best friend grandmas being the flower girls, it was such a moving day. She chose the colors of turquoise, black and copper which matched her venue perfectly. They got ready at the quirky and stylish El Rey Court before heading to Site Santa Fe to say I do. They read personal vows under an octagon shaped arch decorated with eucalyptus and a beautiful hand written love quote "love and adore you forever," which Michael used to write on all their passed notes in high school. The tables were decorated with succulents, in honor of Veronica's late aunt, and candles as well as hand painted signs and stunningly cut placemats made by Mike’s best man. The bridal party entered the fiesta led by a mariachi band and guests enjoyed the festivities while eating yummy tacos and drinking agua fresca and señorita margaritas.

Congratulations again Mike and Veronica, I am so lucky to know you both and wish you so many years of happiness together.
