Emily and Ethan met in college in Illinois. After several years together, and Emily graduating vet school, the two moved to Virginia. The two are animal lovers and enjoy traveling and exploring state parks. While on a hike in Dworshak State Park. They hiked for about 2 miles out on to a private peninsula along the Dworshak Reservoir where they stopped for lunch. Our beautiful state had a special place in Emily's heart, which is why Ethan proposed with a gorgeous turquoise ring on the peninsula, and Emily said yes!
Originally from New Mexico, Emily's heart was set on returning to the land of enchantment for their wedding. Along with their dog Chile, the couple traveled out to get married in beautiful Los Poblanos.
Emily's horse growing up was named Sunflower, so they decided to incorporate sunflowers into their wedding as a tribute.
Chile the dog proceeded Emily down the aisle in her flower collar as h eart shaped chile ristras were hung on the aisle in a nod to New Mexico. The couple were married under a sunflower arch surrounded by their closest family and friends.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to find their seats with escort cards designed like postcards of the state parks the couple had visited together as we ventured into the lavender fields of Los Poblanos to capture Emily's much loved Sandia Mountains at sunset.
The night ended in a hora, followed by cake, and lots and lots of dancing. The couple finished their celebration with a sparkler exit as they hugged their friends and family, and thanked them for being there to celebrate. Congrats Emily and Ethan!
