While incredibly young, Hannah and Derrick have already been together for years, having made their relationship official in 2013. She is an RN, and he is currently a dietetic intern. Hannah reached out to us soon after getting engaged, and we could not have been more excited for this fall shoot in Hyde Park in Santa Fe!
Being an adventurous couple, the pair loves to travel, and their favorite mutual hobby is skiing. They even mentioned that they frequent the Santa Fe Ski Basin for many of their skiing sessions, so it was quite fitting to do their engagement photos in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains! With the aspens’ leaves glowing a golden yellow and popping distinctively off the white trunks in a fantastic fashion, we could see why they loved the idea of an autumn engagement shoot in that particular location!
Furthermore, we found a field just slightly up the mountain behind the lodge that was absolutely bathed in the softest, glowiest light… it was stunning! After having the couple twirl in the sun’s setting rays, we returned to the lodge to wrap up the session— and snag some shots of Hannah’s gorgeous ring. It features an alternative, aquamarine-colored stone that consistently made our jaws drop throughout the entire shoot (and also while our team was editing the pictures of it).
We are SO looking forward to their Santa Fe wedding next year!
