High school sweethearts Clarissa and Steve traveled a few hours south in order to have their dream rustic garden party wedding. And since they were getting married on their anniversary, they knew it had to be extra special.
Clarissa poured her heart into every detail of their wedding, and family and friends pitched in to make her dreams come true. Her mother got extra lace and sewed in sleeves for her wedding dress. Her aunt, who owns a furniture rental business, lent beautiful pieces for decor. Clarissa's best friend and Maid of Honor brought desserts in from Arizona because they were her favorite. And the doors that she walked through in her ceremony were built by Steve for their wedding.
During their ceremony, the couple had a 'Whisky Ceremony" in place of a unity candle, or sand ceremony. They poured their two favorite whiskys into a custom barrel to be opened on their anniversary. One whisky was 'Sweet like Clarissa" and one was "Sharp like Steve."
Steves brother officiated the ceremony, and as soon as they were finished, the newlyweds were greeted by a torrential downpour. After waiting for the worst part to pass, they gladly ran out into the rain, under an umbrella of course, for their photos. The two were almost unfazed by the rain, and were nothing short of gracious and thankful to everyone.
The touches of pinks and blues throughout the wedding brought a romantic and elegant feel that Clarissa longed for. And the venue and the groomsmen's outfits brought the touch of rustic that Steve wanted.
They wanted to make sure that their wedding was full of things they loved. So they included macaroons, and coffee, and walked back up the aisle to an instrumental from Nacho Libre, their favorite movie.
After dinner and the speeches, the two joined their guests in the dance floor, where they all spent the rest of the evening. The party on the deck included some wicked dance moves, karaoke, and some of the most fun we've seen.
As the couple left for the night, they ran across the bridge where their guests sent them off with balloons that held LED lights.
We know that rain on your wedding day is less than ideal. But Clarissa and Steve faced it with such grace, and we couldn't have been more excited to work with such great attitudes. As you'll see, rain can't stop us. Your wedding will be beautiful, rain or shine.
Congrats again Clarissa and Steve, we are so happy for you!
