Amanda + Wayne | An Elegant New Mexico Ranch Wedding

Amanda and Wayne met in Grad school at UCLA. Eventually they moved to Boston, and Amanda stayed back while she finished an internship in San Diego. Wayne came to visit, and surprised her with a romantic dinner reservation, and a walk on the beach. Amanda however didn't think anything of it, because, "No one proposes on a Thursday." Except Wayne did.

They knew right away that they wanted their wedding to be at her families ranch in New Mexico, just like her sister did before her. We knew from the instant we drove up why they chose it. The large property was lined with trees and alfalfa grass, making for some gorgeous photos, and a unique view from your typical New Mexican Desert. The yard was designed perfectly for a ceremony, with a pergola already built, reception with the large grass area and backyard bar, and patio turned dance floor. Drawing it's beauty from the stunning home and landscape, their wedding went for a more elegant and simple feel.

But perhaps just as beautiful was the way that their families played such a big part, from aunts making bouquets, to uncles officiating, there was no part of the wedding untouched by family hands. Families flew in from around the country, and some coming in from China, but everyone offering their help. The ring bearers, flower girls, and ushers were all nieces and nephews, the bridal party mostly siblings, and we couldn't forget Amandas sisters wedding gift. Before the ceremony, Amanda's sister gave her a charm to hang on her bouquet. The charm had a photo of the two of them with their late father. In this way, Amanda's father could still walk her down the aisle.

Amanda and Wayne's wedding was fun, relaxed, and full of love from everyone. We loved being a part of their day, and wish them the best. Congrats!
