Bridesmaids Proposal Boxes

So, you just got engaged. CONRATS, GIRL!!! After the initial shock wears off, and the crying stops, you are faced with reality. You now have to plan a wedding. Yikes. But that's ok, because that's what bridesmaids are for, right? To help. Your maids should be reliable, available, resourceful, positive, and trustworthy. And patient, because you are going to put them through a lot.

I'm what some would call, an introvert. I have a very small group of friends. And most of them have been my friends for several years. In my maid of honor's case; eleven years. So it makes sense that these are the women I would choose to be my bridesmaids. And I wanted to do something very special for them in order to ask them to be there on our big day. So here I present to you, my proposal gifts!

-When putting together your boxes, take into consideration what makes your friends so special to you. What are some things that you enjoy together, or inside

jokes you share?-

.:Girls Movie:.

Every sleepover and girls night, we always find a way to watch Bridesmaids. Because let's be honest, it's one of the funniest movies out there. And since they are my bridesmaids, it seemed appropriate. Try to go chick flick-y. 27 Dresses or My Best Friends Wedding are also great choices.

.:Something to Help at the Wedding:.

Our day is set for May 14th, in Albuquerque. Which means hot. So I decided on water bottles. Hydration is super important. If you read our Gifts That Give Back post a while back, you know that we are fans of Swell Bottles. So I visited Starbucks, Target, Urban Outfitters, and Barnes and Noble and hunted down bottles that fit each girls personality.

.:Something to Munch On:.

In the same gifts post, we mentioned Project 7. And guys, I'm getting married. SO it's only appropriate to have champagne, so I packed in Champagne flavored gummy bears. Pop the bubbly ladies, I'm getting a hubby!! The gummy bears are alcohol free, but if you have a non drinker, consider a ring pop, or something that just looks pretty.

.:Something to Help With the Stress:.

Each girl is different. So for this, they all got something different. There were face masks, bubble bars, bath bombs. Because when I get high maintenance and needy, they're going to need to de-stress.

.:Something That Smells Good:.

Wether it's lotion or perfume, we ladies like things that smell good. I went with perfume, because, I'd like to think that when they smell that scent anywhere, no matter how long from now, they'll think of us and our wedding. And I'd like them to be able to look back with fond memories.

.:Something to Display the Memories:.

We have a problem. We like polaroids. It's our thing. We can't go anywhere or do anything without at least one being taken. So I found these cute stands at Urban Outfitters that hold one polaroid each. If they want to put in photos from the bachelorette party, or the getting ready before the wedding, or one of us at the wedding, it's up to them. But now they have a place to display those memories forever.

.:A Hand Written Note:.

Never underestimate the power of the written word. Take some time to tell your girls what you love about them. Why you value their friendship, and why you need them on your big day. Maybe they are always encouraging, and you'll need them when you get stressed. Maybe they're well organized and you know you can't plan anything without their help. Maybe they're super compassionate, and you're going to need chick flick movie marathons while you cry. Tell them those things, and then ask "Will you be my bridesmaid?"

  1. Take the time to think about your gifts. They should be bought intentionally, and with purpose. They should reflect you, her, and your friendship.

  2. Don't make them all identical. If nothing else choose different flavors of snacks, different colored frames, or different movies (And then make plans to watch each of them as a group)

  3. Choose wisely, and remember to package it all up beautifully.

  4. Take them out to a nice dinner or for brunch, or just drinks, and hand them out all at once.

  5. Don't forget to take your first "Bride Tribe" Photo

Have fun with it!!
