The spirit of New Orleans is a joyous one, full of talented musicians on almost every corner and delectable foods and spirits any tourist would enjoy. The stunning architecture is reflective of its history and multicultural heritage, ornate balconies adorned with large baskets of flowers and a friendly local ready to give you a wave, or maybe throw some beads.
It really is no wonder Kristin and JC picked this jubilant city to host their beautiful wedding. With a 1920s twist mixed with the effervescence that is New Orleans, the couple threw quite the extravagant bash. Beautiful large bouquets of feathers were placed in every corner, adorned with flickering candles to set the mood. Guests enjoyed yummy cocktails and bananas fosters, a local favorite, as they danced the night away. Perhaps the highlight of the affair was when Kristin + JC lead the “second line” after they were announced husband and wife. Having a second line at your wedding is a New Orleans tradition, where a marching band and all your guests parade around the block after the ceremony wearing festive masquerade masks and waving white linen handkerchiefs in the air. A tradition that was incredibly amazing to witness and celebrate the new Mr. + Mrs.
It was such an honor to be able to travel to The Big Easy to document this sweet couple’s love story and experience different wedding traditions from our own here in New Mexico, we wish them the very best.
